Drinking wine in Argentina is not like drinking wine in the United States, choking down Boones Farm when you’re underage, or venturing out for your first real tasting in Napa Valley. Drinking wine in Argentina is a much more personal experience, standing on the land where the grapes have survived a century, and introductions made by the family whose name is printed on the bottle. You drink wine with lunch in Argentina, sitting outside in the South American sun, and eventually you prefer that to your customary glass after a long day’s work or with dinner. After dinner comes bedtime, but after lunch comes the more indulgent siesta. Made even sweeter by the vino downed with your rib eye an hour prior. No café necessary. Just a nap.

It’s that time of year again. The holidays have come and will soon be gone leaving us with new memories, toys, and a lot of cold days to resolve everything that got lost in the shuffle. There will be resolutions to eat right, save money, and work out, among other things. But, in response to these three that frequent everybody’s To Do list, I bring you this soup! It’s hearty, healthy, and will keep you toasty and warm during the chilly days to come.

Name this song:
“hey yo fat girl, c’mere–are ya ticklish?
Yeah, I called ya fat.
Look at me, I’m skinny
It never stopped me from gettin’ busy”
Who’re you calling or should I say nicknaming ”bag of antlers”? Not true, but I appreciate the sentiment almost as much as I appreciate Digital Underground for the Humpty Dance! My being narrowly inclined is certainly not due to power of will and abstain is not a word in my vocabulary… The secret lies in slimming undergarments and sangria so get busy drinking sangria, kids! Drink this, wear that, and eat your chips, queso, and cake too.
PS – Don’t forget to pair with guacamole!!! And enchiladas!!! And finally thank you to my Real Housewife motivation…
